White Hart Tea Room History
The White Hart Tea Room is situated in one of Britain's oldest town's - Leek, and The White Hart building is one of the oldest standing buildings as well. The White Hart Tearooms has been around for generations and only recently was refurbished and brought back to life. For countless generations The White Hart Tearooms have been popular with cyclists and motorists passing through Leek and with local residents. The White Hart now holds many of the original furnishing's, including an original 1900's fireplace with tiles surround and sash restored windows with WWII wooden protection drop down shutters.
The White Hart building also used to be the original Head Quarters for Britannia Building Society back in 1856, of which there is a plaque on the front of the White Hart commemorating this. Also in the Tea Room towards the courtyard entrance is an entry way, where Britannia used to house there large safes.
White Hart is full of history, visit White Hart yourself and take a trip back into the past.
